This trial will test if virtual reality can help treat phobias/social anxiety in kids, especially those with autism. Researchers also hope to learn more about these issues.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for youth aged 8-16 in Miami-Dade County with social anxiety or specific phobias, with or without autism. Participants need a caregiver to help with the study and must speak English or Spanish. Those currently in psychotherapy, non-verbal due to intellectual disability, or needing more intensive psychiatric care are excluded.Check my eligibility

Eligibility Criteria:
This trial includes the following eligibility criteria:- I am a young person who may need more than brief VR therapy.I have an intellectual disability but can speak well enough to talk to a doctor.My caregiver can complete study forms in English or Spanish.I am a young person currently on medication for a mental health condition and can join without stopping my medication.I am between 8-16 years old and have been diagnosed with a specific phobia or social anxiety.I can speak and read English or Spanish well enough to follow study instructions.
