It can also be used to treat joint pain caused by osteoarthritis and certain skin conditions. Triamcinolone comes in various forms, the most common being hexacetonide, acetonide, and diacetate. It was approved by the FDA in 1957 and in October 2021, a form of triamcinolone was approved for suprachoroidal injection to treat macular edema associated with uveitis.

How Nasacort Hfa Affects PatientsTriamcinolone is a medication used to reduce inflammation in the body. It can be used to treat conditions that affect many organs and tissues. It should not be given as an injection directly into the spine.

How Nasacort Hfa works in the bodyTriamcinolone helps reduce inflammation by stopping molecules like leukocytes from entering affected areas of the body. It also limits the production of chemicals like prostaglandins and leukotrienes, which can make inflammation worse. Finally, it reduces the activity of nuclear factor kappa-B, which controls the production of inflammatory signals like interleukin-6, interleukin-8, and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1.

The proposed dosage of Nasacort Hfa is contingent upon the diagnosed affliction, including Mycosis Fungoides (MF), Mycoses and Alopecia Areata (AA). Nasacort Hfa Toxicity & Overdose RiskThe lowest toxic dose of triamcinolone acetonide in rats is 13,100μg/kg when given subcutaneously, 1451mg/kg when given orally, and 105mg/kg when given intraperitoneally. If someone overdoses on triamcinolone acetonide, they may develop Cushing's syndrome. Treatment includes supportive care and a medication called mifepristone which helps reduce the effects of steroids.

I should have heeded the tiny font warning not to use this product if I've had or currently have cataracts. Since using it, my eyes have been red and itchy nonstop. Has anyone else experienced this? What are the long term effects?
