Treatment Summary
Dexamethasone, also known as MK-125, is a type of corticosteroid used to treat a variety of conditions including endocrine, rheumatic, and allergic disorders. It was developed in 1957 and is similar to other corticosteroid medications like hydrocortisone and prednisolone. The FDA approved dexamethasone in 1958 and it is now recommended for use in COVID-19 patients with severe respiratory symptoms, as it has been found to reduce deaths by one third in those requiring ventilation and one fifth in those requiring oxygen.

Effectiveness
How Ciprodex Affects Patients
Corticosteroids are a type of drug used to reduce inflammation. Dexamethasone is one example, and its effects can last for different lengths of time depending on how it is taken. Corticosteroids can be taken in much higher doses than the body would naturally produce, but patients should be aware that using them can decrease the body's ability to fight infections and suppress the hormones in the hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenal glands.
How Ciprodex works in the body
Corticosteroids work to reduce inflammation in the body. They do this by blocking certain protein and gene pathways that cause swelling. Corticosteroids also reduce the number of white blood cells that travel to the site of inflammation, which helps to stop the spread of swelling. Lower doses of corticosteroids can reduce inflammation, while higher doses can suppress your immune system. Over time, high doses of corticosteroids can cause an increase in sodium levels and a decrease in potassium levels.
When to interrupt dosage
The prescribed dosage of Ciprodex is contingent upon the established condition, such as Pink Eye, Brain and Keloids Scars. The measure of dosage is also reliant upon the method of delivery referenced in the table underneath.
