How Lexette Affects Patients
Ulobetasol is a type of corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation. It is usually applied once or twice per day, and patients may need a higher dose than what their body naturally produces. However, it is important to keep in mind that taking corticosteroids can lead to a weakened immune system and increased risk of infections.
How Lexette works in the body
Corticosteroids reduce inflammation by decreasing the blood flow to the affected area and reducing the number of white blood cells going there. They also block molecules that would normally increase inflammation and promote molecules that reduce it. Low doses of corticosteroid have an anti-inflammatory effect, while higher doses can lower your immune response. Long-term use of high doses of corticosteroids can also cause your body to produce too much salt and not enough potassium.
When to interrupt dosage
The suggested measure of Lexette is contingent upon the diagnosed malady, including Pruritus, corticosteroid responsive, Inflammatory Dermatosis and Plaque Psoriasis. The amount also shifts based on the technique of administration (e.g. Lotion - Topical or Cream) specified in the table below.
