How Kenalog In Orabase works in the bodyTriamcinolone works as an anti-inflammatory to reduce swelling and redness. It does this by blocking the breakdown of lysosomal membranes of leukocytes, which prevents the formation of arachidonic acid. This stops the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, which are signals that cause dilation of blood vessels and increased permeability. Triamcinolone also limits the production of pro-inflammatory signals, such as interleukin-6, interleukin-8, and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, by blocking nuclear factor kappa-

Kenalog In Orabase Toxicity & Overdose RiskThe lowest toxic dose of triamcinolone acetonide in rats is 13,100µg/kg and 132mg/kg in mice. The lowest toxic dose of triamcinolone acetonide taken orally in rats is 1451mg/kg and 2168mg/kg in mice, and 105mg/kg for mice taken intraperitoneally. Overdosing on triamcinolone acetonide may cause Cushing's syndrome, which can be treated with supportive therapy and a medication called mifepristone.
