Trial Summary
What is the purpose of this trial? The purpose of this study is to determine if a new non-invasive imaging technology, called Photoacoustic Computed Tomography (PACT), can be used in the pre-operative setting to better visualize the blood supply of reconstructive flaps used in Plastic Surgery.
Eligibility Criteria
This trial is for adults over 18 who are scheduled for non-urgent reconstructive surgery using an abdominal or ALT flap. It's not suitable for those who've had similar surgeries before, can't have iodinated contrast or ionizing radiation, weigh over 300lbs, or need urgent surgery.Inclusion Criteria
I am over 18 and scheduled for specific flap reconstructive surgery.
Exclusion Criteria
I need urgent surgery to reconstruct a part of my body using tissue from another part.
I have had reconstructive surgery using tissue from my abdomen or thigh.
I cannot undergo procedures that involve ionizing radiation.
Participant Groups
The study is testing Photoacoustic Computed Tomography (PACT) Imaging to see if it improves visualization of blood supply in flaps used during reconstructive plastic surgery, compared to current imaging methods.
