Study Summary

This trial is focused on helping youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) transition from school to adult services. Currently, there is a lack of access to these services for these individuals. To address this

Who is the study for?
This trial is for Latinx parents of transition-aged youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It aims to help those facing extra challenges like language barriers, cultural differences, and discrimination. The goal is to teach these parents how to effectively advocate for adult services their children need.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The ASSIST program is being tested after adapting it specifically for Latinx families. This study will check if the adapted program improves parent's knowledge, advocacy skills, empowerment, and ultimately increases access to services for their ASD-affected youth during the transition to adulthood.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves educational and support services rather than medical or drug treatments, there are no traditional side effects. However, participants may experience varying levels of stress or emotional impact while learning advocacy skills.
