Summary
This trial is investigating whether 5Minutes4Myself, a wellness program designed for caregivers of autistic children, is feasible and effective. The program includes attending a workshop, individualized consultations with a coach, and use of an app that supports building wellness activities into daily life.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for primary caregivers of autistic children aged 8-21, or grandparents parenting grandchildren aged 5-21. Participants should have a desire to engage in a wellness program and be able to commit time to it. Those caring for children outside these age ranges or with significant mental illness (except treated depression) cannot join.
What is being tested?
The study tests the '5Minutes4Myself' wellness program, which includes motivational coaching and an app that helps build healthy habits. Caregivers will attend workshops, receive tailored programs, use the app for reminders and mindfulness exercises, and have monthly coach check-ins.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this is not a drug trial but a lifestyle intervention study involving coaching and an app-based habit-building program, traditional medical side effects are not expected. However, participants may experience changes in stress levels or emotional well-being.
