Other Research
Common treatments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often involve behavioral and educational interventions that focus on individualized programming, high staff-to-student ratios, and family involvement. These treatments aim to improve communication, social skills, and adaptive functioning through structured and predictable environments. Techniques such as the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and augmentative communication strategies help nonverbal children initiate communication, reducing frustration. The emphasis on early and intensive intervention is crucial as it can lead to better outcomes. In telehealth settings, these treatments can be adapted to ensure continuity of care, making it easier for families to access specialized services and support, which is essential for the ongoing development and well-being of children with ASD.
