Summary

This trial tests if a home exercise program with virtual coaching can help adults with cerebral palsy improve their fitness and mobility. Participants will exercise at home regularly and have frequent online coaching sessions.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults aged 21-60 with spastic cerebral palsy (GMFCS I-III) who can stand and walk independently for short periods, follow directions, and have not had recent orthopedic surgery or Botox. Participants need a device to access Zoom sessions but cannot join if they have certain medical conditions like uncontrolled hypertension or seizures.
What is being tested?
The study tests whether a tele-rehabilitation home exercise program delivered via technology like laptops or smartphones helps improve fitness and mobility in ambulatory adults with cerebral palsy. It checks if this method encourages participants to stick to their exercise routines.
What are the potential side effects?
Since the intervention involves an exercise program, potential side effects may include typical post-exercise symptoms such as muscle soreness, fatigue, or mild discomfort. However, specific side effects will depend on individual health conditions.

Other Research
Common treatments for Cerebral Palsy, such as tele-rehabilitation home exercise programs, work by enhancing muscle strength, coordination, and range of motion through guided physical activities. These programs are delivered remotely, allowing for consistent monitoring and adherence, which is crucial for maintaining and improving physical capabilities in CP patients. This approach provides continuous support and personalized adjustments to the exercise regimen, ensuring effective management of the condition.
