Summary

This trial studies the effects of hearing aid intervention in adults 55-75 with hearing loss, to improve their physical, social, and quality of life outcomes.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults aged 55 to 75 who have early age-related hearing loss and haven't really used hearing aids before. They must be able to speak English or Spanish and fill out questionnaires on a tablet without help. People with certain cognitive issues that affect their ability to participate are not eligible.
What is being tested?
The study is testing the Phonak Audeo Lumity Receiver in Canal Hearing Aid to see if it improves hearing outcomes in older adults. It's part of a bigger project aiming to understand how using high-quality hearing aids affects daily life, social activities, and overall well-being.
What are the potential side effects?
While specific side effects aren't listed for this device, common issues with new hearing aids can include discomfort while wearing them, feedback noises, and an adjustment period where sounds may seem unusual or too loud.
