What is the purpose of this trial?To determine the effects of chronic sertraline treatment on brachial artery flow-mediated dilation in patients with chronic heart failure and depression

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

Chronic heart failure with LVEF<40%, age >21 years
Depression requiring medical treatment with sertraline

Chronic heart failure patients with concomitant depression

Sertraline is already approved in United States, European Union for the following indications:

🇺🇸 Approved in United States as Zoloft for:
  • Depression
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Panic disorder
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)
  • Social anxiety disorder
🇪🇺 Approved in European Union as Sertraline for:
  • Major depressive episodes
  • Panic disorder
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder
  • Social anxiety disorder
  • Post traumatic stress disorder
  • Premenstrual dysphoric disorder
