Summary
This trialexplores whether dance/creative movement classes improve motor skills, success in other tasks, quality of life & adaptive function in children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for children aged 4 to 17 with a neurodevelopmental disorder, such as autism. It's open to all genders and ethnicities. Kids who've already taken dance classes through the Expressive Movement Initiative or are outside the age range can't participate.
What is being tested?
The study tests how dance affects motor skills, confidence in achieving goals, quality of life, adaptive function, and social communication in kids with autism. They'll attend weekly dance classes for 10 weeks and have assessments before and after the program.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves dance classes rather than medication, traditional side effects aren't expected. However, participants may experience fatigue or muscle soreness from physical activity.
