Serplulimab + Chemotherapy for Small Cell Lung Cancer
Salt Lake City, UtahThis trial is testing two different treatment combinations for patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer who have not received any prior treatment. One group will receive a new drug called Serplulimab along with standard chemotherapy, while the other group will receive an existing drug called Atezolizumab with the same chemotherapy. Both immunotherapy drugs aim to help the immune system fight cancer, and the chemotherapy drugs work by killing cancer cells. Atezolizumab has been shown to improve survival in small-cell lung cancer when combined with chemotherapy, changing the standard first-line therapy.

Nerandomilast for Interstitial Lung Disease
Salt Lake City, UtahAdults 18 years of age and older or above legal age with lung fibrosis related to systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease can participate in this study. People can only take part if they show no improvement in lung function after standard treatment with immunosuppressant medicine. The main purpose of this study is to find out how a medicine called nerandomilast affects the lungs in people with systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease.
Participants are put into 2 groups randomly, which means by chance. One group takes nerandomilast tablets and the other group takes placebo tablets. Placebo tablets look like nerandomilast tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants take a tablet 2 times a day for 26 weeks. Participants continue immunosuppressant treatment for their underlying rheumatic disease.
Participants are in the study for about 7.5 months. During this time, they visit the study site 8 times. At study visits, participants have lung function tests. At select visits, chest imaging is performed. Participants fill in questionnaires about their symptoms and quality of life. The results between the 2 groups are compared to see whether the treatment works. The doctors also regularly check participants' health and take note of any unwanted effects.

Rituximab vs Mosunetuzumab for Follicular Lymphoma
Salt Lake City, UtahThis phase III trial compares the effectiveness of rituximab to mosunetuzumab in treating patients with follicular lymphoma with a low tumor burden. Rituximab is a monoclonal antibody. It binds to a protein called CD20, which is found on B cells (a type of white blood cell) and some types of cancer cells. This may help the immune system kill cancer cells. Mosunetuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. It is not yet known if giving rituximab or mosunetuzumab works better in treating patients with follicular lymphoma with a low tumor burden.

Salt Lake City, UtahThis study is open to people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) or progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF). They can only take part if they have completed treatment in a previous study with a medicine called nerandomilast or BI 1015550 (study 1305-0014 or 1305-0023).
The goal of this study is to find out how well people with pulmonary fibrosis tolerate long- term treatment with nerandomilast. The study also tests whether nerandomilast improves lung function and prolongs the time until symptoms get worse, participants need to go to the hospital, or die.
Every participant takes nerandomilast as tablets for up to 1 year and 10 months. The participants may also continue their regular treatment for pulmonary fibrosis during the study.
Participants visit their doctors regularly. During these visits, the doctors collect information on any health problems of the participants. Participants also regularly do lung function tests.

Nivolumab + Standard Treatment for Stomach and Esophageal Cancer
Salt Lake City, UtahThis phase II/III trial compares the addition of nivolumab to the usual treatment of paclitaxel and ramucirumab to paclitaxel and ramucirumab alone in treating patients with gastric or esophageal adenocarcinoma that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced). A monoclonal antibody is a type of protein that can bind to certain targets in the body, such as molecules that cause the body to make an immune response (antigens). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Ramucirumab is a monoclonal antibody that may prevent the growth of new blood vessels that tumors need to grow. Paclitaxel is in a class of medications called antimicrotubule agents. It stops cancer cells from growing and dividing and may kill them. Adding nivolumab to ramucirumab and paclitaxel may work better to treat patients with advanced stomach or esophageal cancer.

Zongertinib for Lung Cancer
Salt Lake City, UtahThis study is open to adults 18 years and older with advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. People can join the study if they have tumours with HER2 mutations and have not yet received any systemic therapy including chemotherapy for advanced or metastatic lung cancer. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called zongertinib (BI 1810631) can slow down the worsening of advanced non-small cell lung cancer better than the standard treatment available. Zongertinib may slow cancer cell growth by inhibiting HER2. This would prolong cancer re-occurrence and increase survival. Current standard treatment is pembrolizumab plus platinum-pemetrexed chemotherapy.
Participants are put into 2 groups by chance. One group receives zongertinib at regular times throughout the study and the other group receives infusions of pembrolizumab, pemetrexed and cisplatin or carboplatin (pembrolizumab plus platinum-pemetrexed chemotherapy) into a vein.
Participants may be in the study up to a maximum of 70 months. During this time, they visit the study site about every 3 weeks for study procedures. The doctors regularly check the size of the tumour with a CT or MRI scan, at the beginning of the study and every 6 weeks. After 18 months they check the tumour size every 12 weeks. Doctors regularly check whether the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. The doctors also regularly check participants' health and take note of any unwanted effects. The time it takes for the cancer to worsen is compared between the 2 groups to see whether the treatment works. The participants also fill in questionnaires about their symptoms and quality of life.

Creatine + Resistance Training for Prostate Cancer

Brigimadlin for Liposarcoma
Salt Lake City, UtahThis study is open to adults with a type of cancer called dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS). They can join the study if their tumours are positive for MDM2. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called brigimadlin (BI 907828) is tolerated by and helps people with DDLPS. Brigimadlin is a so-called MDM2 inhibitor that is being developed to treat cancer.
Participants take brigimadlin as a tablet once every 3 weeks. Participants may continue to take brigimadlin as long as they benefit from treatment and can tolerate it. Symptom-Based Dosing for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
Salt Lake City, UtahThis clinical trial will help us learn more about how to best care for babies with Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome, also called NOWS. Babies with NOWS often have tremors, a hard time sleeping, excessive crying, and trouble feeding. Some babies that have NOWS need medicine. Doctors have two ways of providing medicine that are widely used today:
1. Scheduled opioid taper approach. The baby gets medicine at regular times. As symptoms get better, the amount of medicine the baby gets decreases until the baby no longer needs medicine. This is called a medicine taper.
2. Symptom-based approach. The baby will only get medicine when they show signs of NOWS, instead of at regular times. If the baby is showing no signs of NOWS, no medicine will be given.
We are doing the OPTimize NOW study to figure out the best way to give medicine to babies with NOWS.

Zanubrutinib for Mantle Cell Lymphoma
Salt Lake City, UtahThis phase III trial tests whether continuous or intermittent zanubrutinib after achieving a complete remission (CR) with rituximab works in older adult patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) who have not received treatment in the past (previously untreated). Rituximab is a monoclonal antibody that may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Zanubrutinib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. When zanubrutinib is used in MCL, the current standard of care is to continue administering the drug indefinitely until disease progression. This continuous treatment comes with clinical as well as financial toxicity, which could be especially detrimental in older patients. For patients who achieve a CR after initial zanubrutinib plus rituximab therapy, it may be safe and equally effective to stop treatment and restart zanubrutinib upon disease progression rather than continuing indefinitely in previously untreated older adult patients with MCL.

Shorter vs Usual Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer
Salt Lake City, UtahThis phase III trial compares stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), (five treatments over two weeks using a higher dose per treatment) to usual radiation therapy (20 to 45 treatments over 4 to 9 weeks) for the treatment of high-risk prostate cancer. SBRT uses special equipment to position a patient and deliver radiation to tumors with high precision. This method may kill tumor cells with fewer doses over a shorter period of time.
