Summary
This trial will collect information on how well a new noise reduction feature works in helping people hear and understand speech better in noisy environments when using a vented earmold.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for English-speaking adults aged 18-85 with moderate to severe hearing loss, who are experienced in using hearing aids. They should be able to perform complex tasks and commit to the data collection period. People with ear-related issues, visible ear deformities, one-sided hearing loss, cognitive impairments or severe tinnitus cannot participate.
What is being tested?
The study is testing how well a Phonak Audeo Infinio Hearing Aid helps understand speech in noisy environments when it has different venting configurations combined with a new noise reduction feature.
What are the potential side effects?
While not explicitly stated, typical side effects of using hearing aids may include discomfort or irritation in the ear canal, feedback noises, and difficulties adapting to amplified sounds.
