Summary
This trial aims to test an online program called ALDER in patients over 65 who are taking benzodiazepine medications. The trial wants to see if ALDER can help increase positive emotions,
Who is the study for?
This trial is for individuals over the age of 65 who use benzodiazepines at least twice a week, have had a clinic visit within the past year, and can access the internet daily. They must be able to read and speak English and have their medication prescribed by NM primary care in the last year.
What is being tested?
The ALDER program, an online self-guided intervention aimed at increasing positive emotions and reducing anxiety, sleep issues, and dependence on benzodiazepine medications among older adults is being tested.
What are the potential side effects?
Since ALDER is a non-medical intervention focusing on emotion regulation through online activities, it may not have direct side effects like medications do. However, participants might experience emotional discomfort or fatigue.
