DexlansoprazoleThe Generic name of this drug
Treatment SummaryDexlansoprazole is a type of proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosion of the esophagus. Unlike other PPIs, dexlansoprazole is released in two phases at different pH values and times, providing two peak concentrations in the blood within 1-2 hours and 4-5 hours after dosing. This helps prevent breakthrough symptoms and the need for meal-associated dosing. Dexlansoprazole works by inhibiting the (H+, K+)-ATPase enzyme, which is involved in

Effectiveness

How Dexilant Solutab Affects PatientsDexlansoprazole is a type of drug that helps reduce acid production in the stomach. It works by blocking the enzyme that produces acid in the stomach (H+, K+)-ATPase, which can reduce symptoms of heartburn and other acid-related issues.
How Dexilant Solutab works in the bodyDexlansoprazole works by inhibiting the enzyme that helps control the amount of acid produced in the stomach. This enzyme, known as H/K ATPase, is activated when it comes into contact with an acidic environment. Dexlansoprazole binds to the SH groups of the enzyme and prevents it from transporting hydrogen ions into the stomach, which reduces the amount of acid produced. Dexlansoprazole also has a special delivery system that releases 25% of the drug dose in the upper part of the small intestine and 75% in the lower part. This helps reduce both basal and stimulated gastric acid production.

Dexilant Solutab for Condition in which Stomach Acid is Pushed Into the Esophagus
I took this medication for years, but then started to experience bad stomach pains and heart palpitations. I stopped taking it about a year ago and have been doing fine since. I sleep with my bed raised up and drink more water, and am careful of the foods I eat.

Dexilant Solutab for Condition in which Stomach Acid is Pushed Into the Esophagus
This medicine is awesome! Even though it's expensive, it works! I haven't experienced all of the side effects mentioned except for being very hungry at night. I'd rather experience that than the other symptoms I had before taking it. I had a really bad, chronic cough for months and nothing worked.
