How Profenal Affects Patients
Suprofen is a painkiller and fever reducer that helps to prevent the pupil in the eye from getting smaller during some types of eye surgery. This makes it easier for the surgeon to access different parts of the eye.
How Profenal works in the body
Suprofen works to reduce pain and inflammation in the eyes by blocking the production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are molecules released from cells in response to trauma, and act as messengers of inflammation. By blocking their production, Suprofen can reduce inflammation and prevent pupil constriction during surgery.
