This trial is for adults over 18 in Pictou County with chronic conditions like high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes (including pre-diabetes), obesity (BMI >25), and others. It's not suitable for those without these specified chronic issues.
What is being tested?
The trial tests a home-based Personal Empowerment Program designed to improve life quality and health through daily emails suggesting exercises, yoga, stress reduction techniques, dietary advice, and more over six months.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this program focuses on lifestyle changes rather than medication, side effects are minimal but may include muscle soreness from new exercise routines or emotional discomfort as participants adjust to the program.

Study Objectives

Mental Health as assessed by the Kessler Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10)
Secondary study objectives
Alcohol Habit assessed by questions from the National Health Institute Alcohol Consumption questionnaire.
Anxiety severity assessed by the GAD-7.
Availability of social support assessed by the MOS Social Support Survey
