Summary

This trial will compare the effectiveness of two eating disorder prevention programs, one targeting male-specific risk factors and the other a time and attention matched control.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for English-speaking men aged 18-30 who are experiencing body image concerns but do not have a diagnosed eating disorder or significant neuropsychiatric illness. It aims to help those who may be at risk of developing disorders related to body image and eating.
What is being tested?
The study tests two programs: 'More than Muscles' (MTM), which has shown initial success in preventing eating disorders, against 'Media Advocacy' (MA), a control program used in previous research. The goal is to see which program better prevents the development of these disorders.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves educational and advocacy programs rather than medical treatments, traditional physical side effects are not expected. Participants might experience emotional discomfort when discussing body image issues.
