Effectiveness

How Loestrin Fe 1.5/30 Affects PatientsNorethisterone is a type of drug used as birth control or to treat hormone-related conditions like menopause symptoms and endometriosis. It is a synthetic version of the hormone progesterone, meaning it is more powerful than the naturally occurring progesterone. Norethisterone works mainly by affecting the pelvic area and hormones that control ovulation. Using combined oral contraceptives (birth control pills) containing norethisterone may slightly increase the risk of developing breast cancer, so patients should be aware of this risk and do regular breast self-exams.
How Loestrin Fe 1.5/30 works in the bodyNorethisterone works on many parts of the body; in the reproductive tract, breast, pituitary, hypothalamus, skeletal tissue, and central nervous system. It thickens the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus. It also changes the endometrium, the lining of the uterus, which makes it harder for a fertilized egg to attach and grow. Norethisterone also stops the release of hormones from the pituitary, preventing ovulation and fertility. In postmenopausal women taking hormone replacement therapy, norethisterone helps reduce the risk of endometrial hyper

Loestrin Fe 1.5/30 for Absence of Menstrual Periods
I was having issues with decreased libido on other birth control, so my doctor switched me to this. It's only been two days, but I'm already feeling great! My sex drive is back and I'm more aroused than ever. Let's hope it stays like this!

Loestrin Fe 1.5/30 for Birth Control
Loestrin has effectively regulated my (previously irregular) flow, but I have been experiencing abdominal/pelvic pain and heavy bleeding since starting my third pack. This has caused me a great deal of discomfort and makes it difficult to sleep through the night. Doctors say this may last another month or so.

Loestrin Fe 1.5/30 for Birth Control
Though I experienced some brown patches on my skin, this pill helped to lighten my periods from 7-10 days down to only 1-3. Additionally, I didn't have much nausea compared to other birth control pills I've taken in the past.

Loestrin Fe 1.5/30 for Birth Control
The nausea this medicine caused was unlike anything I've ever experienced. I had to stop taking it before finishing the first week because the waves of nausea were so bad that I nearly vomited on those around me. It also caused a loss of sex drive, depression, and sleepiness.

Loestrin Fe 1.5/30 for Birth Control
I switched to this pill because the pill I was on previously caused me to have very tender breasts. This pill took the tender breasts away, but caused pretty bad acne for a few months and very inconsistent periods. The periods are light, but I never know when they are coming. I have now been on this pill 10 months and have had 2 periods a month for the last 3 months.
