Summary

This trial tests a smartphone app for opioid use disorder to provide drug info to people in recovery. It will confirm design and specs before a larger clinical trial.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults over 18 who are currently in an opioid treatment program and have been stable in their outpatient treatment for at least 4 weeks. Participants must be able to use the app on a smartphone or tablet. It's not for those unwilling to follow study rules, incarcerated individuals, pregnant women, or people with psychiatric or medical conditions that would hinder app usage.
What is being tested?
The trial is testing the KIOS Informational App designed to support self-management of opioid use disorder. The focus is on assessing how well the app works technically and whether it meets design specifications before a larger clinical trial evaluates its impact on health outcomes.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this study tests an informational app rather than a drug or medical procedure, traditional physical side effects are not expected. However, users may experience stress or discomfort from engaging with content about opioid recovery.
